Best, easiest, cheapest web host to my build site off-line?
May 5th, 2010 | by admin |I am looking to build a new web page and need some GREAT advice from a pro or two or another gomputer geek who knows their way around. I need to build this site off-line. I can’t really afford to start paying for it untill it’s up and running. Soo I need, If y’all know of some decent and fair priced web hosing sites out there that can do this for me. I would be greatly apreciated. It may take me some time to build it. Or them. I have already done the Geocities, but that was well over a decade ago. I’m surprised it’s still up and running. Don’t wanna go that woute again. Yet I would like a fairly simple because it’s been some time since I’ve done a REAL site. so any suggestions on Free or rather CHeep so I can choose my own domaine name, and build it before I launch it to the public. I know you can. Just don’t know of any great sites. Thanks for all your help in advance… NettyLouWho??
OMG, no offence to some of you because you are giveing some great advie, but others are totaly going off track to what I said, silly solfs. I do want to build the site at home and on my pc. but I, just as any others would. Would like to have the entire page perfect, or darn near perfect and done to my satisfaction before I posted it to the web. And since it’s been a while since I’ve built a page I feel like I;m starting out from scratch. As I stated I’ve already used yahoo some years ago, it was a nice and easy start. But It’s too easiy for me now, not enough thngs for me to do. Hey I did get an answer about comcast. Will they allow me a small space, how small?is it drag and droop? Sorry such a long question. Thanks again ahead. NettyLou??
From what I understand, you want to build your website with a domain name. You may be creating the site on your own PC but you want to upload the site to a live server to make it look real. Then once everything is perfect, you will announce the site or the domain to the world… sounds like a good plan to me.
All you need now is a good and reliable host to upload all your stuff and be ready for the big launch. If you are having problem choosing a good web hosting at low price, I suggest you do the following:
1. Go to the webhost review sites such as webhostingjury, hostingsthatsuck.com or webhostinggeeks and list down about 3 common top hosting companies.
2. Next, for each web hosting X, do a “X sucks” search on Google. Read some complaints and see if you may encounter the same problems like them. Some of the complaints may relate to certain groups of users only such as VPS, dedicated server users or resellers. So you may not be affected if you are not from these categories.
3. Eliminate those hostings you feel uncomfortable with, and look for the best bargain hosting for your money.
You can start with Justhost, Fatcow and Webfaction. They are some of the best with cheapest price around. With Webfaction, you can pay month by month too.
Good luck.

If you’re building a site offline why do you need a host at all for at the moment? Offline means on your own computer, not on a host. Any files you put on a host, free or not, are open to the public.
Free WYSIWYG HTML editors are Kompozer – http://kompozer.net/ and Visual Web Developer – http://www.microsoft.com/express/vwd/
Free web hosts, along with the services they offer and reviews can be found at http://www.free-webhosts.com/
For how to organize the files on you computer before uploading them see http://brisray.com/comp/cwbasics1.htm

Hi There,
My ISP allows some space on their server for personal use for subscribers. I believe it is about ten megabytes.
Possibly yours does too. Give them a call.
When you are ready then you can make your own site with your own domain name, etc and transfer your site to it.
I wanted to learn html and make our own home page and it worked very well. So far I have a few pages and photos and have not ran out of room yet.
Hope this works for you also,
Al
